What is the preparatory class?
The přípravná třída (preparatory class, sometimes called "Year 0") is for children in their last year before compulsory school attendance, where it is expected that the preparatory class will help balance their development. Priority is given to children who have been granted a deferral of compulsory school attendance (under Section 47(1) of Act No. 561/2004 Coll.). The daily routine is close to a school routine, with a morning programme of about 20 lessons a week. Among other things, the programme focuses on evening out differences in children's school readiness, preparing children systematically for starting Year 1, and developing their individual talents.
Enrolment for the preparatory class
Enrolment for the preparatory class for the school year 2026-27 will take place on 10 and 11 February 2026, at the same time as enrolment for Year 1.
Admission criteria for the preparatory class for 2025-26
Fill in the application for admission to the preparatory class, print it, sign it and bring it in person, send it by post, or put it in an envelope in the school letterbox during the enrolment period. You can also sign the generated application with a valid electronic signature and email it to hospodarka@zschyne.cz, or send it via data box (datová schránka – the Czech official electronic mailbox). The data box ID of ZŠ Chýně is nj96qin (a signature drawn in a paint app does not count as an electronic signature).
Deliver the application to the school on the day of enrolment.
For a child represented by a parent or legal guardian, the application must include a recommendation from a school counselling facility and a copy of the decision on deferral of compulsory school attendance. A deferral alone is not enough for a place in the preparatory class; the place must be recommended by a school counselling facility.
The preparatory class has at least 10 and at most 15 children. If not enough children apply, the class cannot open.
The information meeting for parents of children placed in the preparatory class is on Monday 15 June 2026 at 17:30.
